In a heart-rending loss for the community, Hope K. Myers, a vibrant 15-year-old student from North Allegheny, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2025. Born on September 12, 2009, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Hope’s life was a testament to youthful passion, resilience, and the joy of living—a spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

A Life Filled with Love and Family

Hope was more than a student; she was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, and niece. Her close-knit family—comprising her parents Felicia A. Coan and Deonzawa Myers, sisters Destinee and Faith, as well as her extended relatives including cherished grandparents Ann Dillard, Terry Coan (fondly known as Tina), Fredricka Berkeley, Ricky Myers (Latorsha), and great-grandmother Deloris Alston—formed the cornerstone of her world. Her loving connections extended to her aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends, all of whom are now left mourning the loss of a bright, caring soul.

Passion for Gymnastics and the Arts

From a young age, Hope displayed an extraordinary talent in gymnastics. Training at Erie Gymnastics Center and Pittsburgh North Stars, she showcased determination, grace, and perseverance. Her love for gymnastics was not just about physical activity—it was an expression of her vibrant spirit and discipline. Beyond the gym, Hope was equally passionate about musical theater. Active in school productions at North Allegheny Intermediate School and with local theater group Act One, she brought characters to life on stage, captivating audiences with her energy and charm. Hope’s commitment to her community was as profound as her artistic endeavors. A devoted member of Orchard Hill Church in Wexford, she was known for her warm smile and enthusiastic participation in student ministries. Her love for singing and music, with a special fondness for Taylor Swift and musical theater soundtracks, resonated deeply within her church community. Hope’s faith provided her with strength and a sense of belonging, and she eagerly shared this joy with others through her active involvement in various church activities.

A friends’ reception will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Schellhaas & Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., located at 1600 Stone Mansion Drive, Sewickley, PA. A formal service will follow on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Orchard Hill Church in Wexford. A private interment will take place at Westview Cemetery in Warren, PA, where loved ones will gather to honor her memory in a serene and respectful setting.
